Government Denies Misconduct in Sex-Ring Inquiry
A defense lawyer's claim allowed a cooperating witness in a Mafia case to run a sex-trafficking ring that involved a 15 year old girl. The government says that they ended it when they found out it involved an underage girl. The witness who was participating in an investigation of the Gambino crime family told the police about the sec-trafficking ring and saw asked to get involved with it for investigative purposes. Prosecutors filed a broad indictment against 14 of the Gambino defendants who thought that some of those defendants were involved in a trafficking ring that had girls under the age of 20.
Jude Buoneto was a convicted sex abuser who raped a girl, and sexually abused another. Jude was involved in the sex-trafficking and acted as the 15 year olds pimp. A prosecutor named, Elie Honeig said that the accusations of rape were false and that Jude being the 15 year olds pimp should be denied. Various defendants in June started to run and plan the sex-trafficking operation, Jude Buoneto reported this to the F.B.I. and they authorized his role in the sex-trafficking. The operation ended very quickly when the bureau and the witness realized that there was a 15 year old girl involved in the ring.

In western mexico, 15 young people were shot and killed at a car wash. All of these young people were in treatment for drug addiction and it was the 3rd mass shooting with connections to organized crimes in less then a week. Drug Treatment Centers have turned out to be a place where the most frequent shootings happen. Members of drug gangs would hide out in the centers and shoot to kill. These people were usually groups of men with high powered weapons. 10 of the 15 people that were killed were clients of a treatment center. They were killed with guns, and some of those killed were innocent people who saw what happened.
After this shooting, 13 people were shot in Tijuana at a rehab center, and 14 were shot in Ciudad Juarez at a birthday party. The Tijuana shooting could have been connected to Mexico's record of 134 metric tons of marijuana, the police have gotten threats of additional violence. The gunmen who committed the crime in Ciudad were looking for a drug dealer. The killings do not appear to be related at all. Nayarit has been a focus of heroin trade. A form of heroin that is found in Nayarit has turned up in the United States with men from Tepic acting like couriers.
8 Longshoremen Charged With Smuggling Cocaine.
Eight dockworkers and three other men from ports in New York and New Jersey were arrested and charged with one count each of conspiracy to distribute, and conspiracy to import cocaine. They sold the cocaine on the streets of New York City. Both crimes carry a maximum penalty of life in prison. One duffel bag filled with cocaine is more enough money to pay someones bills for a whole year, and they had millions of dollars worth of cocaine. 2 years ago a man was arrested and charged with attempt to sell and import cocaine. He had over $34 million dollars worth, more than 1.3 metric tons. There were 11 people in the drug ring and they all got the same charge. Him trying to deliver cocaine got police to do a drug investigation and discovered a drug ring. There charge could have been life in jail, or worse.
The people who were involved in the drug scheme, one longshoreman and 10 other people were arrested in the stock scheme, an illegal stock-trading scheme which allowed a longshoreman to receive money from other people to put towards a penny stock, and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Arnold Eugene Rodgers, who was one of the longshoremen charged with trying to deliver drugs, was a supervisor who became a focus in the investigation. An undercover agent met with Arnold 10 years later at a union hall of International Longshoremen's Association and Arnold was caught on tape talking about delivering drugs into New York and what the cost would be. The longshoremen were paid $50,000 to $100,000 to unload just one bag on cocaine. The men would unload containers of cocaine were police could not see them, then simply seal the containers up again. The longshoremen who were arrested were hired 2 years ago.
